I buy chicken in frozen packages and learned they've been shorting their product!
I was weighing out some chicken when I noticed most of the packaging was gone before I even made it to half of the net weight.

Out of curiosity, I weighed the whole thing and about a third is missing! Is this like a law suit waiting to happen? Can they somehow get away with a third of the weight not being there according to the package?
I'm over here trying to spend my money wisely and they're lying to me.

There was a lawsuit consumers won where they weight cereal boxes and it was less than stated on the box, and they were able to sue the companies and win.

The same could be done here me thinks

I feel like it's not directly related to that but it being just unprofessional and not actually checked. I've been buying them for years, but only got a scale recently.

So what's the procedure? How do I move forward?

You go to a lawyer and find if you have a case.

Okay, cool. I'll look into it through my work or something.
I've never needed a lawyer and really wasn't sure if there was a step I'd be missing.
