Multiple state GOPs are also low on money across the country because they spent too much money trying to help spread Trump's bullshit

GOP states want their citizens to be poor. It's to their benefit. They can put all the blame on Democrats.

Doesn't hold as much weight if they literally can't pay the bills for advertising and canvasing to spread that message. Social media shitposting, prevalent as it is, will still only get one so far.

He is already been using his campaign resources. His America First Super PAC has been funding his legal battles. The dollar amount has been insane.

And the GOP on the state and national levels are going to have much fewer resources than usual because all their followers are giving their money to fund Trumps legal defenses. That wont be much of a problem in red states. But in states where they need to spend money to winho boy.

And also driving away the big donors with their craziness. 2024 might be a figurative bloodbath due to the money discrepancy.

The Save America political action committee (PAC) Trump founded disclosed this week that it was down to its last $4 million by the end of June -- loose change in campaign finance terms -- after spending more than $20 million on legal fees.

Limiting upward mobility has other benefits that appeal to the GOP. Keeping them poor means there will be plenty of non-college educated workers competing for low-paying jobs, it ensures they can't afford prestigious private schools where their kids will be taught critical thinking skills, and it means they don't have to rub elbows with the masses. To that last point, the people on the stage at Trump's rallies would never want the people in the audience in their social circles.

He's been arrested several times now. He's just out on bail.
That's part of the problem. Literally anyone else charged with these crimes would've been held without bail. But since it's Trump, they let him stay out of jail until the trial.

Regarding bail, I'm curious as to why a factor they consider is whether you're a flight risk. When you're on bail the court seizes your passport, meaning the decision is out of your hands. Unless they mean leaving the country through other means, but without a passport who's gonna let you in?

Trump, in a post on Truth Social early Friday, repeated accusations that President Biden is pushing for the cases against him for political purposes.

"Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because shes untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had happened had we not fought." - Kevin McCarthy, 2015

"If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation, because there has never been so many lies, so much deception." - Donald Trump to Hillary Clinton, 2016

"The other thing, there's a lot of talk about Biden's son that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it...it sounds horrible to me." - Donald Trump to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, 2019

"The more that we expose of the corruption of the transition process between Obama and Trump, the more we expose of the corruption within those agencies, I would think it would certainly help Donald Trump win reelection and certainly be pretty good, I would say, evidence about not voting for Vice President Biden." - Ron Johnson, 2020

"How do you get to the bottom of the truth? The only way Congress can do that is go to an impeachment inquiry." - Kevin McCarthy on Joe Biden, 2023

In others words, it's always projection.

And this is why Im still skeptical that even if he is convicted, he wont see time in an actual prison. Like he will be allowed to spend the rest of his days under house arrest at Mar-a-Lago with minimal restrictions.

Most people out on bail don't have a private jet.

In the early 2008, Esptein pleaded guilty to child sex trafficking and was sentenced to - you ready for this? - 18 months in a minimum security prison and was allowed to leave prison for up to 12 hours a day, six days a week for work release. The rich and powerful play by a different rule set than the rest of us.

Air traffic control would be all over him, but would there be any way for them to force him to land?

You can't force someone to land you can only threaten to shoot them down.

Exactly, so if you're not actually allowed to shoot them down then it's an empty threat.

So basically if his plane could reach Russia there'd be no way to stop him?

Probably not unless they used intelligence to intercept him before he left the ground.

But I don't think he'll flee anyway. His ego is too big

Private jet nothing. You'd need a private airfield (where all the people maintaining it are personally loyal to you that they're willing to be arrested in your place) for the jet to take off from to 'slip out' and that's still not considering if the Secret Service would allow him to escape in the first place.
