Oregon just announced a huge boost of support for public defenders, hiring and retaining far more.
It's funny to me because the end result of this is going to be more people getting prosecuted because lately Portland has been so ridiculously short on public defenders they've had to start letting people go because they couldn't provide a defense for them. --- Joyrock/DSFlashlight/OctilIery ... Public defender always seemed like it had the worst ratio of education:shittiness, they dont get enough credit for doing such an important job

Parole and probation too, that's what I got my degree for but the actual reality is that when you have a reccomended caseload of 100-200 light clients, you get 300-500 --- Joyrock/DSFlashlight/OctilIery ...
