My mom has no idea the amount of video games there are. I think she thinks theres like maybe 12 video games at any point in time.

I have countless games in just my backlog that has even multiple years of black friday games let alone many many many between those as well but im using the prior 2 black fridays as an example of how far the backlog can extend to.

I just dont talk about video games with her cause she wouldnt understand anyways.

Algebra... she tried going back to college to get a teaching degree. She did everything for the associates degree except the math requirements. She ended up failing the math class 4 semesters in a row before giving up

Technology as a whole. I've given up on trying to get my mom to be able to do even a standard text on her phone. She's old, but I see people older than her around with their faces stuck in their smartphones and tablets, doing their thing. So it's not an "old person doesn't get modern tech" problem, it's just a "her" problem.

She's very stubborn that way, even growing up in the 80's my mom was always adverse to new tech. Programming the time on the VCR? Fuhghettaboutit, I always had to do it, lol. Though to be fair my dad could never do it either, but for a time much later on my dad was more tech savvy than I was, but that didn't last too long.

Sounds familiar.

I think it's partly a fear/control issue too. Modern things sometimes have to be done a certain way and some boomers don't want to "change" or "be told what to do".

My guess is that men are worse than women on this though.

Probably don't want to admit what they don't know either.
