I was watching a Charles Barkley video and he started talking about his love for McDonalds. As the video was playing I got a weird notification from the McDonalds app on my phone. It was just an empty message, with no text or image. It seemed like a very suspicious coincidence, like they were spying on me and trying to tempt me with their food. I wonder if they use some kind of tracking or listening technology to target their customers. That sounds more fishy than their Filet-O-Fish sandwich. And you know what the rub is, even after I suspect that this thing is listening to me. I am going to keep using it for the deals.

I could go for an ice-cold Coca-Cola beverage product.

It wouldn't be surprising.

Only the technologically illiterate believe it's listening to you. The amount of network traffic and battery use involved would be easy to notice
Much more likely is you share cookies between devices

I remember when it came out it demanded constant access to your location so I just uninstalled the app <_<

I just allow location while the app is open. It basically pings your location to find the nearest restaurant for mobile orders, also tracks your location when you are picking up in a spot.
