Current Events > should i finish BotW before starting TotK?

i played BotW when it first released and played a fair bit. i did 3 holy beasts and got the master sword but i never completed the game
what I missed out on was the bird people/wind area i think. or maybe the gorons. one of the two. i havent played since release so i probably forgot a lot other than the zora area being the best

You dont really need to have played it, as the continuity between the games isnt overly strong.

However, I prefer BotW when compared to TotK, though from what I understand, thats not a very common opinion.

I would say yes but moreso because they're both worth playing and totk is basically botw but bigger and better and it would be hard to go back to botw.

However if botw didn't pull you in totk might not either.

ToTK is a much better version of BoTW so play that, BoTW is pointless now that ToTK is a thing.

I feel TotK is the better game but it lacks the wow factor BotW had at the time, back when it was a fresh game idea and there weren't a million copy cats.

I felt the same way about GoW and GoW ragnarok.

Sums up how I feel. I'd rather play only totk than first botw and then totk.

I can respect that, its just not the same as how I feel about it.

Don't get me wrong, I loved ToTK in pretty much every way. I just found that I knew the underlying systems and mechanics so well by the time I started ToTK that it felt like I was playing on easy mode the whole time, and hyrule was not quite as captivating.

My expectations for a game to deliver the same experience but also a totally new and different experience are wildly unrealistic
