You seem to think I am defending the theif? I am not he was in the wrong.

Alegedly the police are supposed to handle crimes to avoid escalation and mimise damage.

Owner attempted murder when he pulled his gun and aimed first. He initiated deadly force.

The thief just shot faster in self-defense, and now 3 people almost dies because someone had an itch trigger finger over a truck.

Now the owner having his gun out has become attempted murder? This just keeps getting more nuts.

This is what kills me about gun culture and the reverence of vigilantes. The only person responsible for someone getting shot is the person behind the trigger. Firing off and other people ending up collateral damage is exactly why shit like this is a bad idea.

...how many times does it have to be explained to you that self defense does not apply while you're actively committing a crime? You don't have a legal right to shoot at someone who's confronting you during a commission of a crime.

any one who knows proper gun safety would say that yes the person who pointed the gun in the direction of a another person is to blame if that person gets shot by that gun

...I mean, in a vacuum, yes. But if that person only pulled the trigger because somebody else shot at them and forced them to act in self defense, then it's the fault of the person who shot first.

Sucks because if the owner wasn't armed and just dragged dude out to whoop his ass he would have died.

If he called the cops there's a good chance he never sees his truck again because of some punk ass piece of shit.

Can't say I'm sad the thief died regardless. He chose his fate and cemented it with every bad decision.

no in any situation you poitn a gun at a person its a risk the gun could fire and kill that person

In most states you're allowed to hold a burglar at gunpoint until the police arrive. Can't find anything relating to a car, but regardlessly you're really reaching if you think that could be considered attempted murder. Lol.

The thief created the conflict by stealing the truck. The owner used his gun to enact a citizen's arrest before calling the police and waiting for them to arrive.

If the thief hadn't tried to murder the man he stole from, the police would have arrived shortly after and taken the thief into custody unharmed.

The thief literally caused his own death, and the injuries to his companion, by shooting at the man who was detaining him.

nobody said you did. I have a problem with the victim not leaving his stolen property to the police. It resulted in two deaths that could of been avoided.
