Just another sign that SCOTUS think they can do whatever the fuck they want

Congress and the executive can literally change the size of the court.

Strike that down at your own risk.

Exactly. It's inherent. Alito is trying to gaslight here. I'm sure his ConLaw course covered implied, inherent, etc. powers.

Rock paper scissors. Congress passes laws. The president can veto them. Congress can override the president. The courts can strike something down as unconstitutional. Congress can pass an amendment to make it constitutional.

It's a delicate balance, but it only works if Congress can actually pass laws. Force Congress into a gridlock, and the balance gets completely thrown out of whack.

The meta is far more complicated, though.

Look at how things changed once Joe Brandon unlocked the Dark skill tree.

yeah that's rock paper scissors

unfortunately the scissors have been too dull to do anything about the paper becoming OP the last few decades

Everyone loves a good exploit until it's used against them in PvP and then suddenly everyone's crying for a balance patch.

Not incorrect.

Granted (and a big aside), I take umbrage with the chipping away at the Fourth Amendment that has generally been accepted by both ends. More public defenders/defense attorneys need to be appointed to the bench.

From a plain reading of the constitution it does. There's also multiple parts about the ability to regulate SCOTUS.

Powers of the Supreme Court
The judicial power of the United States, shall be vested in one Supreme Court,

The judicial power shall extend to all cases, in law and equity, arising under this Constitution, the laws of the United States, and treaties made, or which shall be made, under their authority;--to all cases affecting ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls;--to all cases of admiralty and maritime jurisdiction;--to controversies to which the United States shall be a party;--to controversies between two or more states;--between a state and citizens of another state;--between citizens of different states;--between citizens of the same state claiming lands under grants of different states, and between a state, or the citizens thereof, and foreign states, citizens or subjects.

In all cases affecting ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, and those in which a state shall be party, the Supreme Court shall have original jurisdiction.

Limits of powers
The judges, both of the supreme and inferior courts, shall hold their offices during good behaviour,

In all the other cases before mentioned, the Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make.

Mitch McConnel and the Republican SCOTUS committed treason when they colluded to steal Supreme Court seats. There's no good behavior.

Remember when Congress granted Justices and their families security at the tax payers' defense? That needs to be gone tomorrow. If they won't allow themselves to be accountable to Congress, then they can be accountable to the people.

The Supreme Court is a good idea in theory, it's meant to be outside of the political mud but of course in practice it's anything but. It seems like a failed experiment at this point.

They should be ignored. Alabama gets away with it so blue states should begin enforcing their gun control laws as written without adhering go supreme court precedent.

In this post-Trump era, all the "gentleman's agreements" that used to govern political behavior now need to be written into statute.

This is what happens when deplorables get invited to the party - all the rules need to be written down now.
