I would choose being the comedian every time.

Price is right seems like a steadier gig.

I get why. I just hate that for some reason they prevent him from being on Whose Line.

He seems to enjoy his job and when the contestants win

Hes not as good as Bob Barker but I think everyone accepts that and is OK with it

Probably because if it worked out, which it did, he had a job for life, and a legacy with the brand.

Job security, probably. Comedy changes with time and isn't always kind to older comedians, but game shows don't have that problem. Shows like The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune are institutions at this point, and they aren't likely to go anywhere.

It was probably the most layup decision hes ever had to make in his career.

Steady gig, great pay, no travel.

vs

Booking your own schedule, assuming clubs want you, fluctuating pay (or no pay if you didnt book a gig), constant travel, terrible hours.

I feel like he's being held there against his will. His demeanor is very plastic and fake. He's no Bob Barker

i think you're just seeing pride. drew carey knows he could be a name without price is right. bob barker was price is right. drew carey without the show is still a comedian. bob barker without the show is just the former host of the show.

of course their approach to every day life is different. bob barker woke up every morning fulfilling his role in life. drew carey wakes up every morning to a nice steady gig.
