I enjoyed it a lot, but it had a LOT of problems. I mean, wtf. In terms of how good it is, I think it's better than 1, but worse than 2, 3 and 3 Deluxe. How do YOU feel about it?

How can people not be very happy for me?

Only in the 4th area, but yeah theres a lot of really tiny things that bug me, like the flarlic system.

I just started playing yesterday, so I got a bit to go before I can give a final opinion, but so far I'm having fun

I agree with your opinion, but I have it equal to Pikmin 2. Both are openly flawed games that still innovated things that are absolutely positive overall for the series, but have certain elements of tedium that honestly feel sort of inexcusable.

It's my favorite Pikmin game and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The game has so many problems though.

I think the biggest problem is how drawn out it is. You have to do a lot of stuff to beat it, and the progression is not clearly explained at all. The main game goes on and on and on until it's done.

Even when you're pretty far into the game, you probably won't have many Onions unlocked. You might have plenty of Pikmin colours available to use, but not the Onions that match them. Wtf. Why did they design it this way? It doesn't really serve a purpose.

A lot of the main game is pretty easy. Figuring out the puzzles, fighting enemies, and doing other stuff.

There are many, many dumbed down features. Being able to move the base, and having recommended Pikmin would be examples of this.

The graphics are excellent, but pretty repetitive.

It feels like many of the Pikmin are underused in the main game. Pink Pikmin are almost useless, despite being really helpful in Pikmin 3, rock Pikmin barely help, and white Pikmin are nothing special.

The Glow Pikmin seem overpowered in the main game.

The dog is basically redundant and annoying. Most of his abilities can be done by groups of Pikmin. Also, he doesn't fit in with the nature of Pikmin gameplay, since it's basically about Pikmin working together, rather than a big, powerful creature doing stuff by itself.
