The game wasnt really meant to be a main line title in development and it shows.

The game was rushed through development, and that's the problem more than anything else.

FFT wasn't meant to be an FF game either, so that doesn't really matter.

I don't think you understand my point. I was noting a problem with how the entire playable cast was male, not with any specific characters. I'm sure Ignis becomes great beyond the little I played but the lack of female characters in the party creates a bro-y vibe that isn't ideal for their audience. This alienates female gamers as well as geeks like myself who like interesting cast interactions, which XV doesn't really have. The rush to release the game resulted in a mediocre product by FF standards and one that doesn't appeal to FF's typical target audience.

Part of why I save Cindy is that I wish she were playable. Her design and personality also help.

you think this is dependent on gender?

I think the cast interactions are bland because they're already well known to each other so it's all rather mundane to them. And the story doesn't really put them in any interesting scenarios until late.

man I'm just in it for the snipestats, I missed a bunch of opportunities when I was on vacation & gambling on H3s thereafter, can we not theorize on contest-wide ramifications of my actions please, lol...

Speaking of which, I hope we get the iron man update tomorrow!

24th (last year, 35th and 31st in prior two)

Would be nice for Cindy to be last XV standing but don't think that's possible. Ardyn's just too consistently strong!

Apparently she was eliminated in today's round last year, and her PB is 44th place so, I guess that's the goal for now.

Yeah the all-male dynamic works for FFXV, just like the all-female party works for FFX-2. I'm glad they didn't force a female character into the main party just to have one

You can (or at least you could when I played it, maybe they fixed it) get Aranea to permanently join your party through a glitch, so that's one way to fix your problem...!

I'm not sure if they fixed it, but if you have it on Steam I don't think it's too hard to mod her (or Iris) into the party permanently. Permanent Aranea is funny since she doesn't have a seat in the Regalia, so she just runs along behind it and gets left behind.

And Aranea would be a much better female rep for XV here than Cindy, but she got softbooted twice and never returned.

Aranea is great/a top 3 XV character but yeah, unless there's an early supporter for her she's just out in boots again. At least Cindy has kateee and BCT and (*checks stats site*)... Socko (!!) helping nurse her through the boot rounds.

I also would've purchased Episode Aranea if it had come out, so sad...

Performance-enhancing scripts will never triumph over my natty snipe skills!

So I just need to get past 15 for Noctis or prompto. Fitting.

I'd be surprised if a 15 character ever beats Ignis's placing that year.
