Didn't honestly see her still having this much staying power. Especially with younger generations.

Yeah. It's very impressive. She hit the scene with arguably much bigger stars like Britney and Christina but Pink has stayed relevant and on the radio for like 20+ years.

She's got a fair back catalogue of recognizable hits, and she puts on a good show.

Her audience will be multi-generational by now too.

I've been saying it for years, Pink is probably one of the only 2000's pop stars to have remained relevant aside from Beyonce and Eminem.

She's always been huge in Australia. Been hearing a lot of her newer stuff on the radio at work, I think she's actually managed to capture an okay dance sound for her newer music. I also kinda like that Makebelieve song in a kinda braindead way.

People like to shit on her, especially on CE - but then again, this is the same place where someone told me a King Gizzard song was the worst song they've ever heard in their life, so fuck this place and its sense of taste.

I'm not a "fan" per se, but I do think she's stayed relevant for a reason. Even if she's moved past that punky "idgaf" sound that most people knew her for in the 00's, she's found a way to remain commercially viable and I kinda like her current production all things considered.

She seems like an awesome person and she came up as a "strong independent women" when there wasn't a lot of that going on. Makes sense why she would have staying power.

When I saw this topic title I thought it was about the literal colour pink.

Back in the day she did an acoustic show that was shown on PBS.
She sounded amazing, like a totally different sound and feel. I'd like to find that episode somewhere

She does a lot of charity work too iirc. She rules.

It's really interesting that the performer whose original aesthetic was being "anti-pop princess" has outlasted most of her contemporaries from the mold that she supposedly didn't fit.

Pink makes music for women who routinely have to decide between buying Camel Menthols and baby formula but she deserves her success imo. Never heard anything bad about her and deserves credit for not trying to be a generic pop star or jumping on any trends/bandwagons.

I was gonna say her recent song Just Give Me A Reason was a hit just to realize that song is 10 years old.

She used her pop stardom to establish herself as a legitimate songwriter, and I think that's what ultimately cemented her longevity. She'll still be doing this when she's an old lady, guaranteed

She kinda did the same thing Taylor Swift did. Started as a less serious act with simple but catchy songs and pivoted to a much more serious style that showed off her talent for songwriting and singing range. It worked amazingly for both of them.
