Kafka released during my lunch break here, so here's my pulling session summary after I was able to go nuts after 3 months of saving (~260 pulls available to me).

I had 60 pulls worth of pity pulling for 4*'s on previous banners, so I got my first 5* after 2 10 pulls. Boom. Kafka.

Then I moved onto her light cone banner and got my first 5* that didn't go to soft pity after 4 10 pulls. Patience Is All You Need - secured.

I wanted at least E1 Kafka so I hopped back to her banner and after either 60 or 70 I got the Express Crew Roster achievement so knew immediately I'd lost the 50/50, ha. Luckily it was Bailu so now I finally have 2 healers available for me at least.

Another 60 or 70 pulls later I got Kafka #2! All with ~7k jade still in the bank for the next target (Topaz/Jing Liu maybe?)

I know I'm getting Kafka, my only worry is getting the 4*s in time.

If I'm completely honest...I'm hoping to get her early enough to justify making an attempt for Fu Xuan. Then If I lose the Fu Xuan 50/50, I'll at least be set again for the guaranteed on whoever comes first in 1.4.

Meanwhile I had to go to soft pity, 80 pulls and once again out of gems! I cannot get a break on these limited banners, all my luck is on standard I guess.

4 Serval (E5), 3 Sampo (E5), one Luka thankfully, I was worried I'd miss him entirely.

Light cones kinda trash though I did get my first post-op conversation which is alright.

Was worried I wouldn't get her as I basically haven't played for ~2 months so only had 50 pulls available (was at 70 pulls already). Got her on the second 10 pull, no idea how far in but it was a 50/50 rather than guaranteed

Now I guess I need to look into it I should try get her Light Cone or throw more at her banner for a possible dupe.

E1 and E2 Kafka can be a fairly big deal. It's not a game changer so it's not, like, end of the world if you don't get it.

Her E6 aparently makes her the best character in the game so whales are gonna love that. I fully expect this banner to make them more money than god.

If nothing else this will more than likely be the most profitable banner in the game so far

Just saw Phantyllia go from 71% to 29% when her turn started, DoT is so cracked with Kafka now.

How bad is your light cone situation exactly? From what I read, E1 is a stronger upgrade in a vacuum but if your cone options suck then the LC is better. However, if you want to run Sampo/Luka and their eidolons are also low, I would have to imagine that tips it back the other way.

I got a 6th copy of Good Night in those pulls, so my Nihility Cone woes are no more.

I really should just keep farming Kafka Traces now, but I kind of want to start working that Himeko lol.

Her E1 is really good, but from what I'm reading, her Light Cone is even better for her, unless you fall under these two scenarios:

-You have a fully superimposed Good Night and Sleep Well
-You're willing to throw Before the Tutorial Mission Starts on her and have Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat to put on Luka or Sampo in her team.

On that note, I think I'm actually going to skip this banner. I just don't care much for DoTs as a gameplay concept, and as such, I don't have anyone she's good with built at all. I'll just keep on saving up and hope Topaz and Jingliu are really good (who am I kidding, I'll be pulling for Topaz regardless).

I'll also try the 50/50 on Lunae, since I have Yukong/Luocha/Silver Wolf all properly set up already.

Not that it really matters, but Kafka's Technique range is so big it can hit two Forgotton Hall enemies at once to merge them into the same battle. All the actual hard FH enemies are single unit per map fights, though.

Wait I just realized I'd been gathering the wrong lightning ascension material this whole time LOL. Time to burn some fuel.

It's not great, I've pulled on 0. I should get enough points for the 600 point 5* light cone soon though. I am definitely running Sampo, he's my strongest unit besides Seele and he's only E1. I think that might make it worth it

I think this is just gonna be a thing, where there's 2 for each element. They put out a new wind one for Blade. I imagine there will be a new one for IL, Fu Xuan, and Topaz as well, but probably not Jing Liu since there's already a second ice one than Yan Qing uses. I doubt we see the last one for normal until that 1.5 character comes out.

I have one good night and sleep well, def not fully superimposed but it's grindable

Idk, R5 Fermata is F2P from the mirror shop and the guide I'm looking at (the KQM one on r/kafkamains) puts it at 8-13% behind the signature. And E1 at a 17% boost. GNSW S1 should be about on par with Fermata S5.

I looked around a bit and guides seem to be split on how good the cone is though, some people's calcs back it up and others don't. But generally I trust KQM for build advice.

For me this is all academic because I'm not pulling on the weapon banner and making due with S1 cones lol

Welt's LC is solid but it's probably not worth the currency since we can get a Herta LC soon. Especially if there's other cones in the shop you want

Yeah the Herta cone is the real wrench to justifying the LC pull. It's pretty dang good and free, not the best but it combined with free Fermatas and several viable gacha 4*s means you're just pulling the cone to go hard meta rather than having a true need.

But, I mean, if you want a hard Kafka carry to last you until the end of time it IS BiS. Yes, S5 Good Night is on par for damage in a vacuum, but Patience allows for Attack Boots instead of Speed Boots.

But at the end of the day if you're only gonna pull for a cone once in the foreseeable future, would save it for one of the 1.4 characters if you plan on getting either of them. They will need it more, their LC pools aren't as good.

I probably should stop (48 pulls left) but E6 Sampo and Serval are slightly tempting. Is it a big increase for either one?

I've also got my 600 points for a starlight light cone. Are there any that are OP that are prioritized or should I just get one for a unit I'm using? My Gepard and Bailu are both level 80 with...random light cones equipped

Seele has a max Superimposed Cruising in the Stellar Sea and the Hunt LC doesn't seem worth it. And I can beef up Good Night and Sleep Well for Kafka or just yolo my 48 pulls on the LC banner...I think I'd prefer to save them though

I think most people go for Bronya's because it's very good on most Harmony units too. Gepard's is also great and would be a big upgrade for him.

I don't have Bronya...I do have Yukong and Tingyun fairly well built up though (both level 70 with decent relics) so it might be worth it

I use Gepard the most though and the light cone I have on him is...so, so bad

I actually did not want that second Kafka. I just really wanted E1 Luka! Now I'm scared to even think of trying for Fu Xuan.

For shop light cone, Bronya and Clara's are highest priority if you HAVE those characters, though Bronya's can also be good with Tingyun. Gepard is a bit more universal Preservation for now. Welt and Yan Qing's are solid, though Welt's mainly just for DPS Nihility, preferably those who get their damage mainly from Skill (so.....Welt, lol). Bailu's is wierd....I mean it's good but don't pick that. And lol Himeko's.

Here's the issue I'm having so far in multi high health enemy boss fights.

I'm finding it difficult to keep track of when I should stop attacking an enemy and just leave them to die, lol.

Because sometimes they just fucking pop for 30%+ of their total HP at the start of their turn, but I had just focused then down to a sliver so it was a total waste.

Oh also Welt is getting the bench until 1.3, because I'm just no going to expend the resources leveling up my second startup of the Good Night cone right now. You wait patiently for that Herta Shop, buddy.

While it sucks ass for my Luka and Sampo Eidolons, I pulled 10 Sevals in this session even though I started with her at E5, so my Starlight got quite the boost.

Oh, and 4* takes so far.

Luka is very cool, definitely best for long single target boss fights though. You'll be obliterating defense with Pearls of Sweat, and Bleed Break is already the best break in the game. Not sure why I'm not seeing Break Effect rope recommended for him much? Seems like a contendor, though his personal damage is pretty damn great so maybe it just works out better with attack rope in the long run, keep all the break effect for Sushang.

People already know Sampo but he's new for me. I can see why he wasn't very popular before now, but Kafka is making him SHINE.

OK I spent $50 and got her light cone too because I am weak. But I got it like right away so I have some points for next time

She's only level 77 because I didn't have enough level up materials and I'm still working on relics but her traces are almost maxxed out and light cone is 80

Main and sub stat rolls are absolutely weighted. Stuff like speed and crit are far less common than defense, HP, break, and attack stats. And then energy Regen, effect, and crit main stats are also rarer.

That why Crafting Resin should basically always be used for Energy Regen ropes, arguably an elemental Orb (elemental orbs are common, but then there's the 1 on 6 chance of the right element. Still, wouldn't invest that with resin because even if you get the wrong Orb it could always work for a different character). Speed boots are rare and high priority too, but Relics are just way easier and faster to grind for than Planars, so people usually just say save them all to make Energy Regen ropes.
