I've joined a couple FB groups for people using various alternative cancer treatments, mostly out of curiosity. The main treatments discussed are Ivermectin, Fenbendazole, and black salve (skin cancer).

I gotta say that it's all very fascinating, especially the black salve due to the visible results. I'm still not entirely convinced but it is something I would at least consider for something like stage 4 cancer.

I am, however, a bit more willing to try supplements and food that are reported to kill or prevent cancer. Dandelion root, soursop, apricot seeds, and hemp seed oil to name a few. What's your opinions? Would you be willing to try one of these alternative methods? Would you do it in addition to the standard protocol or entirely by itself?

As a cancer survivor... No. If that stuff worked it'd be the approved treatment.

I remember my grandmother having lung cancer which she eventually died from.. One of my aunts bought some "miracle juice" with these exotic fruits and stuff for like $300/gallon. Didn't make one bit of difference...

This honestly. Sure you want to grasp at all the chances you can get, but there is a reason why hospitals dont use them.

The thing is that any alternative treatment that's so accessible has in fact been endlessly tested by scientists and found not to work.

The endless army of PhD aspirers and post-docs are not in alliegance with big pharma.

Unless chemo and radiation aren't working and you have nothing to lose, alternative treatments are scams that religious people usually do.

Who are you referring to? I'm not personally taking any of it. In terms of this group I've been lurking, they seem to bypass doctors and go about their own treatment.

There is a good chance of that. I know both Fenbendazole and Ivermectin have gone up in price quite a bit after people caught wind.

Complete and utter scams, if all of this cheap and easily obtainable stuff actually worked they'd be regular parts of cancer treatment regiments.

While big pharma squashing effective shit to make a buck is probably happening, you're not going to find such things on a random oldies Facebook group. That stuff is being strangled in the back of some lab.

Not bait at all. Apparently it's a touchy subject though. These products ARE being used for this purpose, whether the FDA approves or not. I'm just curious if others have researched this.

This topic is dumb regardless of whether or not it is bait. What do you think random people in a Facebook group know about medical treatments that doctors and researchers don't? Some rich and famous people have gone the "alternative" medicine route and they are quite dead, like Steve Jobs for example. And as far as the parallel theory goes--that ultra-advanced medicine exists but is kept from the public, you can look again to Steve Jobs or John McCain or anyone really who keels over and dies from old age or the same sort of shit that kills everybody else.

And don't you dare get started about how you are "just sharing some ideas" or some other type of nonsense. I get that this stuff is clung to by desperate people with poor outlooks, but it also kills or hurts a ton of people who believe it and never get real, working medicine for themselves or their children.

When my wife was first getting treatments, we started looking at alternatives besides chemo. She didn't have the best reaction to her first chemo session (which is obviously common) but she wanted to see what else was there.

There's really nothing there unless you're willing to out of pocket thousands of dollars for something someone said might work, and most likely just scamming you anyways. The only alternative medicine she did was a prayer group where they used these voodoo like dolls to pin the pain away. She did it a few times, it was free. I think it helped her mentally more than anything.

In the end, chemo worked, saw dramatic improvements and shrinking after the second chemo session, I don't think she would have gotten the same results elsewhere.

Chemo and regular medicine saved her life, but I'd understand if none of it was working, looking for an alternative is what we'd continue to pursue.

Ivermectin is a dead give away. I understand wanting to find as many solutions as possible but this isn't what you're looking for.

It's maybe helpful for some colorectal cancers.

That does not make it effective for general cancer treatment any more than it works for COVID.
