All the forced combat is . Games not designed around that..not that fun. I didn't play the original. Was it like this too?

Agreed, I had the same issue with all the forced combat in God of War.

And don't get me started on all the exploration that Outer Wilds forces you to do.

Island was the worst part of the OG too. I actually prefer the REmake Island over the OG because it's overall shorter.

I do agree that it struggles to keep the quality going but I dont know what youre talking about with forced combat and claiming the game isnt built around that. Its all combat.

Yes he fucking does lol. You're getting sniped by bolts and rocket launchers and ambushed by swarms of the bugs when your only main defensive move is a parry. It's okay to critique bad parts of an overall great game

It's not like the game is bad. It has issues and naturally people are gonna talk about em. But apparently this was a flaw of the OG game as well

RE4make Leon moves like he's walking through quicksand. It's not unbearable but the controls were much snappier in the original.

I prefer the original for a variety of reasons but acting like the game isnt built around combat is madness.

Depends what you mean with the original.
If I sink enough time into an OG RE4 playthrough, by the time I'm at the island I probably have all the weapons I like upgraded.
The enemy AI was pretty exploitable which means you can choose between chancing it or playing safe. Still gets pretty combat heavy but it's a lot of fun.

It's all right even though I think the original is one of the best games of all time, it also falls apart in the final level, it was kind of a precursor to how Resident Evil would be from then until 7 came out

If you are talking the gauntlet of enemies in the final bits of the island.

The original was significantly tougher and had more waves.

Also the game was built around combat and yes it was also built with non stop waves in mind. Its called mercenaries mode, ever play it?

Dude the only part I would call forced combat is the first part of the gauntlet since you need to fight off some enemies for the helicopter dude to make the way for you. Rest you can just blitz through with flash grenades, no need to fight at all
