Wonder what would have happened if the person opened the door. Clearly they were scared.

These delivery services should not be tipped and instead given a standard fee based on the size of the order and distance travelled and thats it.

yes so guy could have just declined the job. instead he's probably getting fired when doordash sees this.

Reactions like that make it half-tempting to consider purposely not tipping only for the first time one tries a place/app/etc. as a way to test whether you should or not try them more in the future.

Doordash actually hide or partially hide tips more often than not, these days. To try and "incentivize" drivers to take low paying jobs.

Or if it's a stacked order, they'll combine a no tip order with a tipped order. Which can also be partially hidden

To say nothing of the shit Uber Eats does, where customers can remove the tip up to an hour after delivery. Which leads to a lot of "tip baiting" where people will put up like a $30 tip to get the job taken quickly and then just take it back as soon as it's delivered. It's bullshit.

This is the correct solution

I ordered a $12 sub a couple weeks ago and it ended up being $25 after fees and tip. if the $5 fee from the restaurant and the $5 fee from the delivery service that is barely even involved don't pay the driver enough they should find real jobs tbh.

6 years ago that sub would have been $11-13 to get delivered directly from the restaurant because it also would have only cost 9$

Literally none of that goes to the driver. Not a cent.

Yeah, but sometimes people would take jobs that have no tip in hopes the person will tip them in cash, which is what I believe this guy was hoping for. It's already expensive ordering take out and adding a tip on it just makes it worst.
