Current Events > Off, my Steam Deck's screen isn't turning on

The Deck itself powers on, as I can feel the haptic feedback from the trackpads, but the screen stays dark. I've tried a few methods attempting to fix it, but nothing has worked. Looks like I'll have to send it in for repair ;_;

Ive definitely had this happen before, I believe I also just had to hold the power button for a while, and it eventually fixed itself.

Did you put it in battery storage mode?

Not sure what this is. I've tried holding the power button for several seconds, holding the volume up + ... buttons at the same time.

Press and hold the power button for a long time. If that turns it off, power it back on.

How long? I just tried for over a minute and it didn't work

Try connecting it to a external display, see if it works?

12 seconds should do it. When this happens to me, I just do that or connect it to the official dock and that normally fixes it.

If that doesnt work, you can try a hard reboot. Hold the Volume Up and Power buttons for a few seconds.

did you plug it into a tv?

This is what worked for me when I thought my screen died before.

I just held the button down and then listened for whatever noise is made, except I let it make that noise like 5 times.

Thanks for all the advice, y'all. Nothing's worked, and I spoke with Steam support last night. They'll just be replacing it.

That sucks, but at least theyre replacing it. The only time this happened to me, it turns out the battery had somehow drained itself at night.

Glad to see steam replacing it. There are times i thought my steamdeck screen went kaput but holding the power button to force reset the device seem to work for me. I often miss the audio cue too when turning on the steam deck. So for me its press power button, hear the audio startup, wait a few seconds, then the steam logo shows up.

I use my steam deck to put a dent into my backlog of games. Games ive finished so far on my steamdeck are the telltale games. Although, im still playing guardians of the galaxy.

Ive been wanting to get back into playing kingdom come deliverance and im gonna play it mostly on the steam deck.

I've had it since February
