Assuming Smashs mission is to be a greatest hits of gaming, Lara Croft is the biggest name there. Multiple million+ sellers across multiple generations. Movies. Reboot trilogy. Still getting smaller side games to this day. right on the 20 years nostalgia pop.

assuming cool moveset: theres a lot you can do with Krystal. Rocket jump recovery, shooting ice and fire out of the staff, the quake ability.

Chun-Li would be my #1 choice of that list.

As far as Nintendo's own characters go, I'd also add Dixie Kong, Impa, Lyn, Celica, and Elma as well.
