I think it's a great game.
I haven't gotten far. It's kind of a retelling of ff1. Kind of.

It's pretty fun imo

I'd avoid it. Unless there is a extremely good sale on it then grab it.

SoP is a great time. Got it day 1 and loved it. Jack's a 10/10 protagonist.

The DLC is absolutely a rip off, though.

i wish FF16 had the combat from SoP.

anyway its kind of a dungeon crawler with loot. So if you dont like scrubbing through menus forever before going into a stage, dont do it

It's definitely a game that fans of the series will enjoy more than casuals. The soundtrack is a blend of tunes that fans will recognize, and most of the locations you visit reference an older Final Fantasy game.

I need to get around to playing this at some point. I already own it, just haven't got around to it.

Combat is fun, tons of references and call backs to older FFs, good music, Job System, Jack is funny.

Really the only reason why you probably wouldn't like it is if you take the story too seriously.

I already spoiled myself on the story and love the whole silly thing.

I feel like they're trying to make it edgy, but the test audience laughed instead. So they go "fuck it, this is a satire now."

Got the game and I beat the pirate dude. Liking it this far, got a bit overwhelemed at first of the insane amout of loot, and I guess the smithy is more for end game since you get upgrades all the time.

Yeah, the amount of loot is ridiculous. But all you gotta do is auto-equip the best gear from the menu and keep trucking.

It auto equips the highest level and misses the affinity stuff tho.

Its a great game. One of the best of 2022.

Iirc level is crazy important though. You can give up a couple levels for a bonus that you really want, but if your equipment is too low leveled, you're gonna get insta staggered and one shot a lot.
