It will be a miracle if this show is able to cover the entire story. Might take 10 seasons. And no Netflix show has ever lasted that long

I believe the original voice actors also did voice overs for this show. ill probably rewatch this a 2nd time in japanese.

thats pretty cool, the only minor gripe I have so far is "keng of the pirates".

makes me wonder what Chopper will look like in the future. that is, if this gets past season 1... lol

anyway, i guess it doesn't look as bad as i expected. i might watch it but i'd rather stick with the anime.

This looks like a lot of fun, I'm on board now (hurhur). Arlong's nose looks like crap, though. Dunno how that passed.

Looks like it could be fun. I don't have a lot of faith in it getting another season though. But for what it is it looks alright.

Arlong does look off though. He needs to be bulkier, and have a bigger nose. But eh, I guess they probably tested different looks and chose this one for a reason.

I actually like his accent. Sanji's too. I'm all for it. All the characters look great.

I even liked Usopp's little laugh in one of the scenes. It reminded me of his Japanese VA a little. I'm not expecting a 1:1 series and I'm glad to see its getting a lot of hype. i remember hating the idea and the first trailer pulled me in. The second one kept me.

I think this is going to be a series that will pull in a lot of people who don't have time for the anime or manga and my best friend is one of those people.

I showed him the trailer and he made a joke about how nobody is Asian and that might piss a lot of people off(well Zoro's Asian) and I told him that not only did Oda have a say but he gave us a list of what each character may be based on in the real world and it seems accurate enough.

So One Piece fans won't freak out and I doubt anime fans would care enough to interject. I just hope that people are going to say "Why bother?" and avoid it. I want more seasons and I hope people actually decide to watch it rather than to (not even collectively) just dismiss it.

Honestly, even though the CGI is kind of cheap-looking, it looks like it's going to be a lot of charming fun. Love that the creator of the manga is closely involved. Even if it fails, I'm glad this project exists and I actually hope it succeeds.

When we see the full Luffy execution scene, I wonder if we'll see Bartolomeo in the crowd. I get the impression from the trailers that the show's going to be on top of the little things like that.

Live-action Arlong looks like a Star Wars character.

I was trying to spot some characters during rogers execution but couldn't see any, so iunno

The Nami "help me" shot looks so weak compared to the anime/manga, but to be fair it's hard to top Oda's expressiveness in that scene.

And arlong... I don't care that he looks goofy, but that strained, obviously fake raspy voice sounds terrible

It would have been cool if we knew about it early on and Funi had some fun with it and went and got different voice actors for it. I'm glad that we got to see it in action though. I feel like Oda wasn't just talking hot air when he gave that list of different nations. He put some thought into it. Sadly I think Sanji isn't French here but I like his accent so...I'm probably just going to accept that lol.
