I kinda agree with what you mean. I liked the John Wick movies just enough to watch the first three movies once (though I'm dreading watching that 3-hour 4th movie. That's too long for an action movie.). Though I do get tired of some action movies that have too much repetitive action that's repeated over and over again. One example is with gunfight scenes where we see the main good guy(s) fire their weapon, then quick cut to a bad guy getting hit by a bullet. That's a common action scene that gets repeated ad nauseam at times, and especially in low budget movies as that's a cheap action scene to film. I think the John Wick movies, as well as others out there, could've benefited from is some hard R-rated gratuitous violence, but just right the amount of it and not overdo it. A decapitation, limb dismemberment, head blown off, etc. Something to jolt the viewer and make them react with a "oh shit" moment. Some of my favorite action movies like Commando did that with a few graphic kills in it when Schwarzenegger had the machete to mix it up from the other scenes of him mowing down soldiers with a machine gun.
