I finished all the dubbed episodes on Netflix, would I be missing anything if I stopped there?

I don't know where the dub ends, but anything beyond that is going to suffer from even worse pacing than the anime has had historically. They finally got their act together and occasionally bring in the a-list animators for a fight scene now and again, but you can just watch clips of those fights on YouTube and save yourself the pain of watching episode after episode that barely covers the content of a single chapter.

For context, here's a relatively spoiler free clip from the recently concluded arc in the anime to give you an idea of what it looks like when they actually put budget into a fight. Just keep in mind that these moments are few and far between.

They were fighting some guy with Mole powers and the slingshot guy was riding and emu or something during a big battle in a city. And yeah the pacing was terrible.

Like my taste isn't immaculate I enjoyed Naruto while skipping filler and flashbacks and the first arc of Bleach, but I really don't get this show.

I watched the first episode on Netflix last night to give the series a shot and it was a bunch of yelling obnoxiously mixed with Luffy yelling gumball a lot. The animation is neat. The characters and story isnt interesting so far. Ill keep watching though. Its supposed to be the most popular anime.

The dub is awful, first of all and it doesnt. Its arguably better now than it ever has been. There are definitely high points though, like Water 7 / Enies Lobby, Impel Down, Marineford to name a few.

Supposedly the show is renown mostly for world building but everything seems to play by Calvinball rules and Rule of Cool.

The problem is that one piece doesn't really do filler arcs. They just reduce the amount of content they animate per episode. A well-paced anime episode generally covers about three chapters worth of material, but one piece has been riding on adapting one half to one chapter per episode for years now. The end result is pacing feels glacier and nothing ever really happens in an episode.

If you're going to keep following, you may as well read the Manga. I don't think the anime is really going to win you over. If there was something about the one piece anime specifically the drew you to it, feel free to mention what seemed interesting and maybe someone on the board can recommend another series with a dub that scratches that itch.

Enies Lobby Up to the pre time skip. After that it's mostly just mediocrity until wano.

Hell even the action goes down hill, with Luffys who used to be a very fun and creative fighter turned into a mindless DBZ style slugger.

And Sanji and Zoro don't get into any major fights until Wana.

Oh man, dbz style slugging. I had to stop watching Naruto after the Pain arc when it all turned into that.

The world building is brilliant, but you arent really far enough to see that yet.

Every island is a world unto itself, with the later ones having their own cultures, races, cultural and religious divides, political intrigues, climates, geography, etc. So every time you get to a new island it feels like a new world, and thus the series never really feels old. This also means theres no real limit to the kinds of stories Oda can tell Im this world.
