As a Belgian, that was quite informative. I know of the atrocities committed in what was known as the Belgian Congo back then, but I had never even heard of the fact that we had territories in Guatemala and China.
We were taught what happened under Leopold II's command in history class, though very little time was spend on it compared to WWI and WWII which was taught in the same year. But not a single mention ever of Guatemala and China. Granted, it probably mattered very little compared to the hell we put the people of Congo through.

I actually was discussing this somewhat recently with some friends. Our current king Filip was visiting the country and apologized for what we did there. And the Congolese were naturally upset at the notion that all this rich royal had to offer were empty words for what happened under the command of his great-great grandfather. Like the US, reparations entered the discussion.
And just like the US, this was met with "WTF do I have to do with what rich people did in Congo a hundred years ago?". I spend the next 2 hours trying to convince them of the notion that we, as a people, as a country, profited from this and still do so today. Told them our infrastructure was funded with it, our great social benefits were partially funded with it,... Yet after 2 hours, it was still "b-b-but the rich royals have to pay these people" and "They need to fend for themselves, idgf"

I watched one from him but on other channels it seems like the video would have been half as short. He takes time to talk about every little interaction in this story: https://youtu.be/7G8f-AMx9-w
Also the title was a bit dramatic and didn't really deliver. He states the road is a death trap and I thought we'd get some history on the road and how it's taken many lives because of a specific feature, but he only talks about the one couple that went down it. Also they burned up all their gas sitting waiting for help and the husband died because he trekked into the wilderness not because they drove off a cliff or got stuck.

What you circled was it.

The story is they rented a cabin out in the middle of the woods in Maine which is already not highly populated.

The girlfriend couldn't come on the trip so she asked him to take a picture and he didn't notice anything at first but she pointed out the looming shadow outside. They look outside and there's nothing there anymore from that same perspective.

So literally somebody was just standing outside their cabin and it gives me heeby jeebies.

That was crazy, haven't seen that one before.

There's another one about the guy who died in the Nutty Putty cave that is disturbing as hell. His body is still there, they couldn't get him out.

Yeah that was a good one though I listened to it on scary interest's channel, and he didn't spoil it so it was severely disappointing to hear how they almost saved him and then the equipment failed at last second.

I looked up the first case in that video and while mostly true, the dog did fall and kill someone and somebody got hit by a bus crossing the road there, the man who died from a heart attack was seemingly unrelated and happened several blocks away.

So just a reminder that all these channels make shit up, or more specifically echo fake stories there are more prone to get clicks/do no research.

Personally I'm not sure why the story needs the third, rather tame death. I guess there's some sort of rhythmn to there being three.

Where are you reading that? I keep looking up sources and none of them mention the old man was on another street.
