I know that it disappointed a lot of people and had problems with performance on certain systems, but is it better now that it has been patched and had new content added?

Grapes.

It's pretty good on current consoles and pc.

Mods make it much better, and the the new expansion looks promising.

Its certainly great but based on upcoming release notes I just dont want to play it until then.

It's good. I am waiting for the big redo of everything skill based before I pick it up and beat it.

I liked it enough to find it enjoyable. However, with the significant update coming soon around September, who knows how that may change. For it's not just adding new content but major changes to the core game mechanics as well.

It's likely going to be better imo but hard to know without actually playing it.

I played a little bit on the PS5.

-For the most part it runs well. I had one soft lock during a cutscene but that's about it.

-I was quite disappointed to find out choices don't matter. Admittedly it might just be a me issue but I was getting into the roleplaying and find8ng that choices were pointless really put me off the game.

-It looks great

-The game overall is fairly solid

Had no idea that the update associated with the DLC was making core changes. Was there a lot of criticism towards the skill system or something?

I played few it a few months ago and thought it was fantastic. Will very likely play through it again if there are significant updates.

Got the platinum in about a month on PS4 a few weeks ago. I loved the various endings in that they felt fairly different from each other and really wanted to see how stuff would play out. Only recurring issue I had was when racing from place to place in the world, things would take maybe 10 seconds to load (cars and pedestrians), which made for a few interesting moments where the game loaded a car where I happened to park and watching them try to push each other out of the way. I learned to just get out a little bit early and run on foot to the next location.

If you are on PC or next gen consoles, there is a huge update coming when the DLC releases. If you own it, I would recommend playing it now because it sounds like there are going to be some massive changes to the core game coming up and I think it would be great to experience them both.

afaik they're tweaking cybermods so that there are negative consequences to installing so many of them in-line with the game and the Edgerunners lore, which sounds ballsy but welcoming.

Cybermods were just too OP. Rest of the game content-wise is superb and as loaded with unique side missions as Witcher 3.

It was great at launch on PC.

It's very good. DLC is going to overhaul the game though so I would just wait for that.

This, it's pretty damn good but the DLC is even revamping the base game significantly

Biggest thing I remember seeing is how broken hacking was and that not leveling up skills in it was crippling yourself. I focused on shotguns and grenades but by the end after putting some points in hacking, there was little need to get into combat when I could just kill everything with a simple hack. Wasn't overly fond of the way weapon skill trees worked. Shotgun and assault rifles were tied to putting points into strength, while smg's, sniper rifles, and pistols required agility. Grenades were tied to the crafting branch. So at times you felt locked out of trying certain things because your base skills would otherwise be too spread out.

Suicide hack is gloriously satisfying in a group.

The one that makes spreading disease is the best one for groups.

even if the performance is improved, gameplay wise, it still looks the same...

Played it on pc a couple of months ago. Ran into a few weird bugs, but for the most part its fixed.

It's very good.

Still not what was promised, but the upcoming expansion is bringing a massive overhaul of the game with it to add in much of what was promised.

The expansion is bigger than Blood and Wine for Witcher 3 and that very well might have been the largest DLC ever made.
