They just move numbers on a computer screen from one digital account to another or tell their boss they can't move as many number to another account, all while wearing slick suits and working out all the time.

They just talk about money all the time and their life goal is money. Does this bother anyone in those careers? Your work isn't tangible, you aren't like "Wow I helped heal someone from a disease" or "I built a nice hardwood desk someone will use for hundreds of years", it's just "I move numbers and then I get paid $300k a year, he'll yea". Seems like an empty life.

They contribute to society. They actively make it worse.

That's why I currently hate my life and wish I was in a lower position, I used to enjoy life and party with the guys more when I was on the sales floor and being the sales floor also meant you met more women too nowadays it's just mostly in the office and entertaining others in the office most of the time we don't do anything special and I honestly can't tell you in detail the furniture we sell anymore to me it's just spreadsheets, numbers, charts

I'm sure there's some satisfaction in bring able to provide a good living for your family and yourself.

Every person that interacts with other people contributes towards society and has value. I have very judgmental and unfriendly feelings towards every person that thinks otherwise.

Im an accountant that works for a hospitality group that is a side investment of a hedge fund manager. We manage restaurants, marinas and resorts in the Hamptons. We employ hundreds of people though. So managing the finances and making these businesses profitable does keep people employed but I dont feel like Im doing anything grand as my job is more accounting tasks than actually making a difference for a decent wage. 80k a year
