I decided to finally watch the Bond movies, as Id previously only seen Goldeneye, Casino Royale, and Skyfall. Been watching from the beginning, and Im currently watching Thunderball as I type this.

But watching these has made me curious about the books. Does anyone have any experience with them? Any good?

It's been a while, but . . .

They are very competently written and well-paced. They are also (mostly) not as unrealistic and outlandish as the films.

Keep in mind that they are products of their time.

Not really. Even for their time they were not great. The movies are better.
