Whatever you do, don't leave your socks lying around the office while you're out on lunch break. They'll put tiny pebbles in them as revenge.

Oh. So there are actually workers rights and they can't fire you without paying you, but the downside is needing 3 months notice to quit.

Do you have a job lined up at the end of the 3 months? It seems crazy that they would be cool waiting 3 months.

That's pretty insane compared to the commonly accepted notices-to-quit in my industry (white collar office U.S.). 2 weeks notice is considered "standard" for the rank and file but ultimately many just make a point of getting out with a 1 week notice since things get extremely awkward for the employee who put in notice.

If somebody already has an actual reputation that they can lean into, giving a 1 week notice vs a 2 week notice seriously isn't gonna affect anything about how you're viewed.

Correct, though 3 months is longer than most. The average tends to be 4-8 weeks

Yes! I'm signing the new contract and sending it off during the course of the week. Just need to clarify some stuff regarding when I start

3 months notice is insane. What happens if you just quit?

Shit, never heard of that much being needed here. 4 weeks is the most I've seen, and that's for management level positions; otherwise it's usually one or two weeks.

I break the terms of my contract, leaving me open to litigation accordingly
