ooger posted... Streaming services are the new cable. Everyone was so hype about cord cutting and look where we are now. Just like always-on Internet and mass storage for consoles sounding awesome at first before giving to way to microtransactions, obscene update sizes, and abusive DLC that ruined the good aspects. Just run your own Plex server and you-know-what to add content to it, I say. --- Surely if I stick up for rich people on the Internet I'll eventually get a sweet job offer from them, right? ... You were saving money in the early days cutting the cord because you could probably do with only having Netflix, Hulu or Prime, maybe 2 of the 3 at most, but now every network has there own and it is insane. We still have cable because my 65 year old father uses it and my mother sometimes as well, but on top of that we have Disney, Hulu, Prime and Paramount+. I do not know the breakdown of the TV portion of the cable bill or the current prices of the streaming service levels we have off the top of my head but it would not surprise me to learn the streaming services come close to costing as much as cable. ...
