Never saw demons but I remember struggling so hard to move that once I could I threw myself off the seat (fell asleep in the back seat of a van)

I just remember screaming but nothing would come out, yelling for my wife but she never heard. Sleep paralysis sucks dude.

It always seems to happen more with a day or evening nap than actually going to sleep at night

I'll take a charlie horse any day. Sleep paralysis is terrifying. Your mind is still trapped in sleep mode, and your body won't listen to you. So you can't move, you can't rationalize. It's just terror as delivered by whatever your subconscious wants you to suffer.

Admittedly I got a little too used to hallucinations from detoxing so often.

Yeah, now once I realize what is going on, I'm more just annoyed than terrified. I can tell my brain wants to do freaky shit to me, but I think my attitude ruins its fun so nothing happens really.

Never had sleep paralysis. Charlie horses suck but i can get rid of them quick and that process feels kind of nice so it all balances out.

Never had either, thankfully.

I do get Restless Leg Syndrome. Neither painful or scary, but by 3:30am I'm ready to cut my leg off!

I had sleep paralysis before but without the hallucinations. Somehow I woke up right after that point in sleep. Thought it was kinda cool to try and will my body to move but couldnt.

Yeah it was morning or afternoon. My mom drug me to work with her cause she was trying to keep me from doing drugs. I didn't know about sleep paralysis so I assumed it was some kinda withdrawl

Charlie horse is so much worse. I had one that was so bad that my calf muscle was sore for hours afterwards. It hurt if I put any weight on it, so I was limping around for most of the morning

Ironically walking and actually using the muscle helps improve it

She was drugging you to keep you from drugs? Or do you mean she was dragging you with her to work?

I usually wake up fast enough to prevent them by flexing the affected leg, but when I'm not fast enough, I end up dragging myself out of bed and to the bathroom to turn on the facet in the tub and let the warm water relax it away.

It's interesting because it typically happens when you're on your back. If you quickly stand up you alleviate some of the sensation and pain

sleep paralysis is scary being unable to move is just frightening
