Couple of things here.

1. You're gonna be hard pressed to find a nation on Earth that HASN'T been formed on the borders or lands of others, had foreign interference, etc. This isn't something exclusive to the U.S.

The only places on Earth you'd find any place that wouldn't fit that bill would be certain islands out in the South Pacific.

2. People often forget that there were Native tribes that also fought each other in territorial disputes as well. Look up the Algonquins vs. the Iroquois.

For the record, they're specifically talking about the land containing Mount Rushmore, which the government granted to the Sioux as a permanent home by treaty, then broke said treaty a few years later. The Supreme Court even agreed that they'd broken the treaty, saying "A more ripe and rank case of dishonorable dealings will never, in all probability, be found in our history." This is a case of a tribe wanting back land that the government agreed should belong to them.

They're an American company that got acquired by a giant multinational conglomerate but continue to operate as an independent subsidiary. Founded and always been headquartered in Vermont.

I came into this topic thinking it was about a new flavor of ice cream (maybe something lgbt themed, something like the neapolitan except in rainbow flag).

If they actually cared about the issue, the information should have been present in the Tweet, and been the first thing you see when you get to the site. It's one of those things where the core message may have validity, but they've coated it with so much shit that nobody is actually going to ever engage with it.

nothing wrong with calling for the government to honor its agreement and give the land surrounding mt rushmore to the tribe they promised it to. obv the us isn't going to be dissolved and given back to various tribes as a whole but governments should generally honor agreements they make like that

Quick question, did those disputes end with the indigenous population being depleted by literally ninety percent?

Like we did to them?

Because unless they were killing off 9 out of every 10 of their people before we even showed up I'm guessing those disputes weren't exceptionally comparable to the actual fucking genocide we committed.

I just wanna harp on something here: the organization of society along "business 101" lines is bad. The maximization of profit is, necessarily, the minimization of other concerns, and frankly I care a lot more about those things than I do the quarterly earnings of Ben and Jerry's or Disney or any other company. You should too.
