I dunno, all the vast majority of us ever wanted from Subway was $5 footlongs, which I get is virtually impossible these days, but they keep adding all these expensive premium subs or whatever to their menu that no one wants and wonder they're nowhere near the ballpark of what they once were

You said "they ain't getting a knife" in response to the person that didn't know it wasn't sliced at location. No one that slices meat that thin at scale is using a knife to do it. "Knife" never needed to enter this topic.
The only mistake in my post was not saying, "they'll" instead of "they" implying current tense.

My local franchise store needs to be shut down. The folks that run this place are greedy and disgusting.

Employee dropped knife onto floor while cutting the bread for my sandwich. Picked it up and shoved it back into the bread. When I pointed this out and asked to start over, the employee denied it.

I walked out.

The NO COUPONS policy is plastered all over the store. If you use the Subway app or a delivery/pickup app, you can get around this.

Lone employee was on the phone when I walked in. There were customers in front of me waiting to order.

Yeah, they're basically required to accept coupons unless otherwise stipulated. We had spare knives right at the station because, yeah, people drop shit. Just grab a new knife, and it's no big deal.
