I never had problems with controls in games like that on the Wii or on the DS. My hand hurts more holding the switch than it does playing Kid Icarus Uprising.

I loved the storyline and I greatly enjoyed Fi as a travel companion.

But repeatedly proving my worth with pointless tasks was annoying. And the Wiis controls were so fucking terrible and frustrating that I have had no desire to replay it since I finished it, something unique for a Zelda game.

Hate is a strong word for it. I didn't hate the game, but it's still easily my most disliked Zelda game.

its still the only 3d zelda i havent played. i own the remaster for switch though

Whats the best control scheme to play it on Switch? I heard the Wiimote attachment was really good in making it feel like your sword movements were 1:1.

Never played it. Find it hard to believe that any Zelda game is worse than Wind Waker.

It's pretty bad. Easily one of the worst games I've ever beaten. I still can't believe how much backtracking they made you do, along with fighting the exact same boss like 3 times

I'm a huge Nintendo fan but if Skyward Sword wasn't made by Nintendo and didn't have Zelda in the title, it easily would have scored in the 70s at best, probably even lower. Instead it's somehow in the 90s? Sorry, but there's no fucking way it deserves that

I'm glad I played the Switch version first. I enjoyed it. The Wii version sounds annoying.

I only played the switch version, but I liked it. I loved the dungeons

I remember the motion controls being kind cool, but also extremely off putting at certain times (flapping the wings, steering while swimming, chasing Demise while hes escaping that hole) so Ive honestly probably only played the game two or three times tops.

Want to get the HD version but at the same time idk if I give enough of a fuck about the game to even bother.

To be fair I'm being slightly dramatic, I never hated it. But definitely thought it was one if the worst Zeldas and still do.

I loved it back then, and I still do now. My 3rd favorite 3D Zelda behind Oot and MM.

And, by extension, that Phil Fish exists.

I don't hate it. I actually really enjoyed the Wii version, despite the slow start and fighting imprisoned 4 times.The gameplay was pretty good during it's time. I get why the motion sensing was so polarizing. It worked good in combat (sword and bows), as well as items (bomb, the beetle), flying, and puzzles. Some of the mini games like mine cart I really hated. It did require a lot of wiimote calibration. Overworld is a weak point though. The backtracking sucks, even though it does lead to new dungeons. I think the biggest chore was the padding with the dragon quests.. Fucking hate that. But the story, characters, music and dungeons are top notch and in the top 3 in linear 3d Zeldas.

The Switch version added some nice QoL features and 1080p 60fps. I beat the switch version, but it doesn't beat the initial experience I had on Wii. Even though I bought it for less than retail, I was kinda salty that Nintendo sold it for $60 MSRP.
