You know, the head guy of Valve. Despite not playing a lot of Valve games, he always seemed like the kind of guy I'd love to just sit down and talk to. Like, he'd probably have a lot of interesting wisedome to share.

I will tell you when Half-Life 3 is out.

He's in direct competition with George R.R. Martin of "which creator/author finally gets around to releasing a sequel to their respective series first? As well as who wraps up their series' storyline first sometime in the 21st century? Will either of them be alive by the time we get to the final A Song of Ice and Fire book and Half-Life game?"

Great gaming leader and Steam is the closest gaming platform to being objectively good.

Makes it funny when companies like Epic try to pull the standard platform war shit against Valve and it's completely obvious they're just being greedy fucks, since Valve doesn't actually cause any trouble. (contrast the MS vs. Sony stuff where it's not entirely clear who the bigger bad guy is)

Valve stays a private company so they dont have to devle into all sorts of aggressive monetisations to please the developers. The steam client is light years ahead of all the other competitor launchers. And it has recently updated too, its now faster and includes features like letting you make notes in the overlay while you're playing the game which is a huge.

I dont have the steam deck but that thing looks awesome. The amount of freedom if gives it users just shits all over the nintendos switch.

I know they're not perfectthey've had their own controversies here and therebut when I think of gaming companies that are pretty much agreed to be beloved and has pretty high quality standards surrounding them, my mind immediately go to Valve first and foremost.

Not until Gabe's Steam printer prints him out a billion dollars and he whips out his steam deck a few more times. Then maybe he will grace us with a new Half Life game, though most likely another prequel game.
