SOJ is the obvious conclusion to Apollo's story.

(Like TT should've been for Phoenix but here we are..)

I think it works as a finale if we never get another mainline game, but it does leave the door open for more.

Why would you want that though?

I mean, Phoenix's name will still be in the title, but they could still make good use of Athena.

They just couldn't keep doing games with 6 cases and 3 main characters, especially since they were going to give Phoenix half of them. That model wasn't sustainable.

Unless the next game is literally an entirely new cast from scratch, I'll be pretty pissed if it's not Athena.

I want nothing to do with "Phoenix Wright 7"

I don't really see the point of continuing with Athena outside of 'it would be nice to have a female protagonist'. Where does her characterization even go from here? It'd be like the problem with Phoenix needing to resume the mantle in AA5 and AA6 despite his character arc ending in AA3, except Athena isn't a series icon who can get away with it.

I love Phoenix and would be perfectly happy to get another game starring him.

Also I'd be totally fine with AA7 following Apollo in Khura'in. You could reunite him with Trucy or even Athena.

Since we're talking about dream AA7 plans, here are two of mine.

First: My dream AA7 is to have three separate scenarios for each case based on which lawyer you choose, Mega Man X4 style.

So assuming 7-1 is a trial-only tutorial that teaches players individual gimmicks, then 7-2 has separate investigation scenarios with:
Phoenix/Maya (Magatama)
Athena / New Unnamed Assistant (Not Blackquill) (Mood Matrix)
Apollo / Trucy (Bracelet)(Apollo is visiting from Khura'in or something).

It's the same case basically, but depending on the attorney you choose you figure it out with different witnesses and evidence, and the characters you meet are different (Gumshoe vs. Ema vs. TBD New Detective) for example.

The trials are also different depending on which attorney you choose, and each one has a different "style." For example, Phoenix's could be "bluff," Apollo's might be "power-focused" while Athena's is "mental" (or something). In addition to presenting evidence players would have to choose arguments that correspond to their strength.

Obviously this would take an immense amount of difficult writing, so it's just a fantasy. I imagine it's really difficult to write a game like this from the point of view of a single character, so yeah. Moving on.

My second and I think more likely dream AA7 plan is to have a case for everybody. 7-1 is trial only Phoenix, 7-2 is Athena, 7-3 is Apollo in Khura'in, 7-4 is a flashback Ryunosuke/Sholmes case, and 7-5 is "Phoenix's final case." I guess Mia gets left out, but oh well, she already had her flashback case.

"More likely" is relative I guess. But I honestly have no idea what AA7 will/would be like. If Takumi is involved I imagine there might be some attempt to make GAA3 and just call it AA7.

My absolute fantasy scenario for AA7 is that it's about Mia in between the events of 3-1 and 1-1. They could even make Phoenix the assistant if they really wanted to keep him a main character.

If not that then I'm hoping for Athena, but after she barely got to be a lawyer in her own game and didn't even get to participate in the final trial of 6-5 I feel like I shouldn't expect much from her.

A whole Mia game with Phoenix as the assistant would be fantastic.

I don't know if it's a minority opinion, but personally I like Mia more than Athena.

Mia is great, but I don't expect to see any more games set during the OT era.

One of the common daydreams I have is, like, him being the opposition for the tutorial, and it's his first case. So he's the one that's nervous, and he explains the game mechanics to himself out loud, to remind himself of what to do
