The time has come,' the Walrus said, To talk of many things:
Of shoes and ships and sealing-wax
Of cabbages and kings
and the CE Steam Summer Sale Event 2023!!

Here's how it works:

1. The CE Steam Summer Sale Event 2023 will commence 10am PDT June 29.
2. Post your Steam wishlist and maybe someone will buy you a game! Make sure your wishlist is set to PUBLIC.
3. If you are gifted a game, post in this topic stating "[GameFAQs username] has gifted me [Name of game]". If we all do the same format it will make record keeping much easier.
4. Gifts will be recorded on this Google Sheets worksheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1J46DGgbfcQyHImPLJTBlTNvHmTIMbJN8VhXE5fcbWb4/
5. Humble Keys will not be counted towards the final draw until 10am PDT July 6. Only keys given away on or after 10am PDT July 6 will count toward the final draw. For every five keys given away you will receive 1 entry into the final draw. Please mark posts for keys received as such for ease of record keeping (eg. "[GameFAQs username] has gifted me a key for [Name of game]").
6. This event will conclude at 2pm PDT July 9. Shortly after the final draw will be conducted. The number and value of prizes shall be determined on an ongoing basis as set by those wishing to contribute, and as such may not be finalised until the conclusion of this event. Note that to receive a gift card from the final draw you must be friends with the gift card giver on Steam for a period of 3 days (72 hours). This is a requirement of Steam and we have no control over this.
7. If you wish to contribute to the final draw please indicate here what your prize(s) will be. The prize worth the most shall be awarded to the person with the most gifts given. All other prizes shall be drawn randomly using an online random number generator pitted against the order of the gifts being given. Prizes shall be drawn from most value to least value.
8. You may officially post your wishlist up to 3 times per topic. If you abuse this rule you will be found out and ridiculed extensively!! :P Continued violations of this rule may result in you being excluded from the final draw and from the event. Note that wishlists in your sig are not counted as official posts.
9. If you're not in the USA region codes/locking may prevent you from gifting users in certain countries and vice versa. This is a limitation of Steam due to regional pricing differences and as such falls outside of our jurisdiction.
10. And finally, this is a friendly, fun event. Discussion of games given, wished for or just because is highly encouraged. Please be courteous to one and all and, most importantly, have fun!

I haven't looked at the store front but I'm hoping there's at least some new stuff on sale this time around. Seems like it's a lot of the same stuff every time. Of course I'm talking about the lower end of the price spectrum. Those are usually the ones I add to my wish list.

Hopefully we can avoid negativity this time, there's always something, however small that comes in with these topics.

I got about $60 in my wallet rn. We'll see what's good this year.

What you all been playing as of late and what are you potentially after the most during this upcoming sale?

I've been revisiting Sonic Frontiers after the second update dropped, it's an even more fun game now than I thought it was initially. I've also started giving more of my time to Kotor 2 finally, thanks again to @blistr for that by the way!

So how long until the sale shows up? An hour or two?
I'm planning my route. I can think of a handful of games I should check and a couple of expansions.

I've actually managed to play through quite a few games recently. My PS+ expired a couple weeks ago, so it gave me the motivation to plow through some before they expired. It helped me to get through Stray, Trials of Mana, and Outer Wilds. Almost made it through Yakuza: Like a Dragon too, but ran out of time during chapter 14 (of 15). Now I'm debating if I want to re-up for another year, or drop that money on Steam games.

I am enjoying it, thank you! Originally started with a Sentinel because I wanted ALL OF THE SKILLS, but my build was kind of scuffed and I felt really weak in combat. Started over as a Consular with a more stay in my lane kinda build because I want to actually use offensive force powers like a proper Jedi. So here's hoping that build goes a little better!

There was some drama raised about the fact that people were being gifted but not gifting others. Which has always been the spirit of these things. First one I ever joined I didn't have a dime to gift with but I was gifted so generously by everyone. Now I try to send a few things when I can.

I can't see that happening for the games I'm mostly interested in in all honesty, but we shall see.

Sometimes, these sales push things into view that I'd forgotten about or didn't know of too, so it'll be fun to do a bit of browsing.

Not gonna lie, I cried a little when the remaster was revealed. Ghost Trick means a lot to me, got me through a pretty dark time, so I'm so excited lol

Miss the more elaborate holiday sales events they used to do.

Typically always happens.

Won't be long until it fixes itself, give it about an hour, all of that traffic combined with real time updates to the store visuals and pricing, things will be fully on track soon enough.

Funnily enough, it actually has lmao.

Scholar of the First Sin is also on sale, Bandai feeling generous for once! Been far too long since any game under Bandai via From's portfolio has been on sale.

Most Souls games are 50% off.
Most of the time there's a big sale, I give Sekiro a look and it's always 50% off. Today isn't different. Not enticing.
