Even well south of Chicago has limited visibility and AQI of around 200.

we're at a 10 right now on the AQHI scale which is almost as high as it goes and the recommendation is basically "dont go outside"

Pollutants are expected to be in the UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS
to UNHEALTHY range.

The action day is in effect for the following Michigan counties...

Midland...Bay...Huron...Saginaw...Tuscola...Sanilac...Shiawassee...
Genesee...Lapeer...St. Clair...Livingston...Oakland...Macomb...
Washtenaw...Wayne...Lenawee and Monroe.

Smoke originating from wildfires in Quebec, Canada is currently
impacting PM2.5 concentrations at the surface across much of the

That majority of that is because of what happened with the Aral Sea as well as the chemicals that were stored there when the Soviet Union collapsed.

That whole region is like real life Fallout. Lot of disease, poverty, and ghost towns.

I've only been hearing mention of Canadian Wildfires, but I guess they're pretty bad because it seems to be effecting the entire Rust Belt.
