I been hearing the victims death was instant. So they didnt feel any pain or have time to process what happened. But it made me realize Stockton Rush also didnt have time to process so he may have died not knowing he was wrong about the sub being a death trap.

They died instantly upon implosion...But we don't know if there were any warning signs they may have seen or heard beforehand.

I read that there was proof that some sort of emergency device used to rapidly ascend was engaged, so my thought is he knew what was about to happen.

I'm sure there was some sign that everything wasn't going as planned. It probably wasn't business as usual, then implosion.

Yeah but is there any proof of this proof? This all seems to be second hand and hear say.

The other companies been knew though. A lot of experts in industry were saying it wasnt safe. Stockton was the one pushing back against the standards already in place.

He never got to learn.

To be fair, I respect that he insisted on going on the trips himself. At least it has the "I'm the captain, and I will go down with my ship" aspect to it.

Likely, dude seemed pretty fool of himself in his interviews. Saying he could do a task just as efficiently taking risk and cutting corners as he could otherwise doing so.

Which implies he very well knew the potential danger. So as sad as this would it was inevitable.

Probably insisted to the other passengers in the final few moments that there was nothing wrong.

It'd be a bit like the captain of the Titanic telling passengers clinging to the deck, "It's OK, it's supposed to do that!" as the ship begins its slide beneath the waves.

I mean, he was betting his own life on it.
You can't be more convinced than that.

His actions were stupid because he didn't see the danger, not evil because he knowingly put people in danger.

He was pretty arrogant about his own knowledge. Even if he saw the implosion coming he'd probably blame whoever screwed on the bolts or something.

Pretty sure the general consensus with submarines is that if you have time to think about what that noise you just heard was then you're actually fine.

He was told multiple times by James Cameron and others in the deep sea community that his design was flawed. Particularly about the us of carbon fiber and off shelf parts. James himself has done multiple interviews about it.

He knew. And thought that he knew better than everyone else. And since the sub did multiple successful dives until last week he was blinded by success until it was too late.
