Very basic rundown:
Over 7 records broken already with more broken records already forecasted
Nearly 10,000*** (goddamn I can't read) without power as power grids break
Historic heat will spread to other states
Car interior temperature can reach 141F after 30min outside. Up to 150F after 60min
Life-threatening heat forecasted. Triple digits over 111F and Feels Like temps at up to 120F

I took my dog out to pee at 3:00 am the other day and the Feels Like was 91. Two weeks ago our high Feels Like for the day was 117.

It's too bad Texans are going to have to wait through this summer and the next three summers before they can get their next chance to vote out Greg Abbott. Though as the old saying goes, "you get what you vote for" and boy did they get a mighty big turd sandwich out of it.

Moved here for work in 2021. Hate it but we got a brand new AC unit last spring. We're on a separate power grid than the rest of our area so it's been fine so far. If it actually went out we'd probably go hang out at a mall or something.
