Most conservative Christians, whether they realize it or not, are indoctrinated to believe the Republican party is God's party --- regardless of who is at the head of it. My grandmother, God bless her, literally pulled a "God works in mysterious ways" to justify how a man who is antithetical to the teachings of Christianity could be the religious right's chosen one.

I don't think we're likely to see too many people turn against Trump. Not if they're still with him at this point. If he committed murder in broad daylight, his victim did something to deserve it. We know the Democrats are bad guys, so the Republicans must be the good guys and anyone they hurt must deserve being hurt. He's done everything he could do to drive people away from him. Those who are still with him are with him to the bitter end. If Trump's punishment for all of his treasonous acts was to be chained to the rails of a sinking ship, there would be many who would consider it an honor to take that final voyage with him.
