I think it was overhyped a bit when it first aired on Adult Swim as the next big project by the some of the Cowboy Bebop guys during the height of Bebop's popularity, so of course it didn't remotely live up to that. I might be confusing the hype for it a tad with Witch Hunter Robin, which definitely fell short, though.
