Persona 4 even had a recast with the Golden release and even different voice actors for the Anime.

I'm so conflicted.

- Terrified of the level of technology we've reached to have AI voices.

- Horrified at the prospect of voice cast

- Weirded out by whoever is voicing the protagonist and like, speaking in full complete sentences.

- Amazed at how close Mitsuru's voice is

- Curious about what the spiderman thing is referencing

- Finding the skit utterly hilarious.

Yuri Lowenthal (the English voice of P3 MC) voices Peter Parker in the recent Spider-Man games. And Tara Platt (Mitsuru VA) voiced Yuri Watanabe which makes the reference double funny.

I'm really gonna miss Yukari, Junpei, and Mitsuru's OG voices. They made those characters to me. I'll still give the new guys a chance tho

Annoying since there was no problem getting them all together for P3D. That was barely 5 yrs ago.

You say this like they couldn't get the cast back from the dancing game a few years ago. That's not the case at all. They literally didn't even try to get the original cast back

If your friend started getting major roles in Marvel films do you really think they would have the time to speak with you? let alone spend months with you to voice a character for your game? you'd be lucky to even have that friend leave you on read.

Omg what. I just finished playing Spiderman 2018! I knew there was a reason I liked yuri (before the weird DLC turn) and spidey so much.

Also they're... they're married. This is all kinds of nifty coincidences and tidbits I'm discovering right now that is so cute.

So, yes. Video games only take like one or two days for voice actors to record, and Atlus does union dubs now. I guarantee they could have gotten back the cast from Q2 if they actually asked them. The issue was that they wanted a new cast, not that they couldn't get the originals

Makoto is from Danganronpa.

Looking at the original voice cast, most of them are more famous and probably expensive now.

Will miss them, but they are probably more expensive now since many have blown up since then. Then again, they apparently came back for spinoffs.

This seems to be a trend. VAs getting replaced without the originals knowing. Sucks to see voice acting is still a somewhat disrespected career.

Also why does the wiki even have his blood type... that's a weird detail for the designers to have for their characters.

Atlus does union dubs now, and the pay is pretty standard, so cost wouldn't have anything to do with it

Plus, the most recent cast of actors have all been good about reprising their old roles, even when they don't pay a lot (i.e. anime dubbing). For example, Liam O'Brien is probably "above" a role like Gaara at this point, but he always comes back to voice him despite the low pay from Viz Media

And you know what it's kinda expected for female mc. Persona 3's whole thing was literally including every anime trope available culminating in the game. You've got all the types of anime characters, you've got shy girl, you've got tough girl, you've got robot girl. You've got the cool guy, the foil to Mc who's jealous of him, the rival, you've got a dog, you've got the delinquent, the little kid. It's basically all of anime in one game. P3P just added that other one.

Is there any confirmation that is Yuri? It sure does sound like him as you said. If it is him, I suppose it is possible he just wanted to do a cameo. That said, I don't think that is the case since not even a single one of the main characters have an OG voice actor reprising a role. I highly doubt every single person turned down the job to voice these characters again.

Nah there's no confirmation for any of the trailers or the the non-party member characters. But you can take it from someone who has listened to his voice for probably hundreds of hours across different shows and games - that is definitely him lol

He also just came back to voice Makoto Yuki in the P5R challenge battle, along with some incidental characters. He has a great relationship with Atlus and reprises basically everything, no matter how minor. He would have came back for this game if they asked... and from that trailer it sounds like he did, just not for the characters he originally voiced

Some bullshit that only an Aquarius or AB+ person would believe in.
