For real though, the demo was really cool, and the story alone seems to be worth it.

Yes, I got a PS5 just for that. Demo was brilliant.

I'll get it eventually. Just got Diablo 4 and I'm still making my way through TotK. Want to get SF6 before I get FF. Should be easy to avoid spoilers I hope.

I have it pre-ordered after playing the demo.

I can't wait for it to come out, I am so hyped for this game.

Comes out on Thursday. Gonna buy the physical or digital?

Gonna pick it up Friday after work. Probably physical version so I can let my friend play it after. He's never played a FF before but is interested in this one, but not interested enough to buy it.

I'm getting it digital.

Oh and for everyone else getting it digital, preload goes up today (20th that is)

Gonna try to hold off for PC release, but might buy a ps5 to play it. I figure if i buy physical i can probably resell it for only a loss of about 150 or so. Might be worth the hype

Maybe eventually. No way am I paying $93 for it. I was also disappointed how inconsistent the faces were in the demo.

Yeah I'm locked in. The demo was pretty good and got me interested in the story.

The gameplay is fine so far. I haven't tried the "taste of power" part of the demo, but I don't really want to either, because those always overwhelm me.

I greatly enjoyed the demo so I think I will.

I didn't like the gameplay from the demo. Also, this in no way makes the game bad as it is a personal taste, but I hate European/medieval settings in most games. I have absolutely no idea why. I find it bland/boring. With that being said though, I can tell it's going to be a great game. I'll wait for a PC port though even if it takes 2 years.

I don't wanna be an old head but I always enjoyed my turn based final fantasy games and after buying the last few and not really enjoying them I'm going to give it one more shot. The setting seems to be a return an the older style games which has me pumped.

But if I buy this and don't enjoy it I'm probably just done for good with the series, except 14 when I get that urge again.

I have pre-ordered the deluxe edition. UPS says it'll be delivered on launch day, but we'll see.

I definitely strongly prefer turn-based, and it's why Dragon Quest is my favorite JRPG series. Absolutely cannot wait for DQ12. Even though I didn't like the gameplay of FF16, I started 7 remake (never played the original) right after doing the demo. Even though it's not turn-based either, I actually enjoy the game and gameplay. Already at Chapter 5.

Yep... I really enjoyed the demo... Had it preordered before but the demo made me more hyped for it...

Yes, but I don't know when. I don't have a PS5 yet (still not enough exclusives to justify $500 for me), so I'm biding my time with a marathon of the rest of the games leading up to it to bide my time for either a PC release or enough money in my savings account that I can buy a new console.

Preordered and preloaded

I just started the challenge thing that opens up after the demo. That was a bad way to name this "mode" because it's just a part of the game thats a few hours deep, and it autoequips you with some dodge ability.

I will say that this so far has completely sold me on it. The storyline in the demo was great but the gameplay didn't really grab me, especially because a quarter of it was a glorified QTE cutscene. But the gameplay at this later point of the game is fantastic.

I played Dragon Warrior 1 way back on the NES back in the day and a little bit of 8 on the PS2. I want to say I played a little of 9 as well. I never could get fully into them.

But a couple years ago I played DQ11 on the PS4. That game was amazing. It was everything I was looking for in an RPG and scratched that old school RPG itch I had. I even bought it again on the Switch and am currently playing it again. I recommend this game to everyone who likes the old style RPGs. I'll for sure check out the next one in the series.

I need to try the other control options. A is weird with magic on triangle when I wanna keep it charged to use it in my combo, especially if I melee and use skills etc.

I heard they might patch in custom binds which I hope.

I hear control option C is s good one for those thst think A is weird, for the reasons you listed.
