Do you consider your state fun?

https://wallethub.com/edu/most-fun-states/34665

Somehow Ohio ranked #13.

If I had to guess, most out-of-staters would not consider Ohio a fun place to be.

Ohio is probably high because of its amusement parks.

My state is 4 but without the city of the same name it would be a lot lower.

It probably would be if America valued outdoor sports more. As it stands, the only reason why it is so high on the list now is probably because Colorado also has one of the best food scenes in the country.

Virginia #24
Only thing to do in Virginia is go to Virginia Beach, when it gets warm. And we have two amusement parks, Kings Dominion in Doswell & Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. Which are only open from April to November. Winter sucks because we hardly get any snow anymore, so if you want to ski you have to drive to West Virginia.

The level of debauchery that happens there is insane. I knew going in that the party scene there is wild, but was in no way prepared for how ridiculous it was.

Absolutely love it there in general, going back ASAP.

Can't say I experienced this. I actually really enjoyed driving in the Phoenix metro. Probably because people there actually move when the light turns green, unlike in BC where they just sit there with their thumb up their ass.

To be fair, Cincinnati Zoo has possibly the best zoo in the country. San Diego Zoo can suck Cincinnati Zoo's nuts. Some of the state parks ain't half bad either, such as Hocking Hills and Mohican.

I lived in the metro area for over 5 years and the drivers are just obnoxious, tailgating you at 20 over, making a gap where there isnt one, too many people on their phones driving and dont even get me started on the incessant braking as a reaction instead of steadily slowing down. My insurance rate went down over 30% when I moved from the area.

I was mostly in the East Valley to be fair. Maybe downtown Phoenix is worse, but again as someone from a medium sized city in Canada where everyone drives like they just shot up heroin, people actually moving at a decent pace was life changing.

I'll give you the phone thing, everyone just openly on their phones while driving and TPD/MPD/SPD do fuck all.

Didn't really experience anything else you mentioned. I have very few bad things to say about my experience in Phoenix. If it wasn't such a walk down to get a Green Card I'd already be living in Tempe with extreme prejudice.

Downtown Phoenix is bad, but the real issue is driving on the freeway during the weekdays, particularly rush hour. But during the weekdays rush hour is from like 7AM to 7PM. It's why remote work is a non-negotiable for so many white collar workers there. Commuting is awful, dangerous and a huge chunk of your day, even if you are centrally located. If you're driving on one of the major freeways during this time (the 10 id the worst), on a daily basis, it isn't a matter of if you will get into a car accident or experience road rage, it's when. People are more high strung and exhausted during the summer, desperate to get home, and drive like they are in a race.

AZ comes in very low in rankings, but considering it's grown into a large city I always wonder how it's as low as it is. And yes, every teacher I have met hates their job. They all have this beaten down "This isn't something you do for the money" attitude that comes off like Stockholm syndrome, and within a few years they have either changed careers, or checked out. A lot of people who have a talent for it go someplace else.
