The daily average global temperature exceeded 1.5C above pre-industrial averages (1850-1900) in early June 7-11, reaching a maximum of 1.69C on June 9th.

We are in an upswing headed into El Nio this year after three consecutive years of La Nia, and the planet is projected to continue warming exponentially unless we immediately put an end to all fossil fuel consumption, as well as devise some way to remove ~200 ppm CO2 from the atmosphere which is currently impossible (even with using more fossil fuels to do so.)
