Bad

I liked it a lot. It moved a bit slow, but it's a TV series so that's expected. The visuals were very, very good. I like the premise a lot (I've always wanted to see Sauron's rise to power and the inevitable war to follow) even if it isn't book-accurate. I don't mind that it's condensing a lot of time periods into one series of events and rearranging details to make the story its own. As a work separate from the books but based on that world and those characters, I think it had a very strong first season.

Painfully mediocre

I was going to say okay, but when I take into account the amount of time and money spent on it, I think I have to push it into bad. It should have been SO MUCH more than what it was, something to rival early Game of Thrones in quality.

It did have good moments... I liked the parts with Elrond and the dwarf fellow. If the show were just about them or mainly focused on them, it probably would have been much better.

And the part where they revealed the "mysterious" stranger with the halflings was Gandalf, I was just like, do y'all really think you were pulling off some kind of dramatic twist with that? Because you've been dragging it out like that's what you think, when most folks probably figured this out a long time ago.

Galadriel was the only good part

Season 2 needs to be written by somebody less dumb, it was painful the way they basically tried to make the show a murder mystery instead of an epic story.

It wasn't as dogshit as the alt-right incel community makes it out to be but it was still bad.

It was ok, there was some dumb decisions but I'm still not seeing why this taking liberties with the source was such a sin compared to literally every other adaptation in existence.

The worst part is, theyre si god damn vocal that they make it harder to levy the actually legitimate criticisms at the show without getting lumped in with them.

Like, Rings of Power is bad, but... not because of Galadriel or black people. It's because it's sloppily written, poorly paced, doesnt reflect its obscene production cost, and reeks of a pretentious young writer who is convinced they know how to "fix" a story people loved for decades.

It's like the live action Disney remakes. There are a MILLION reasons to dunk on them. But not because Ariel's black. Fuck, she's the only good aspect of that movie.

I thought it was good. I'm looking forward to season 2, if it hasn't been canceled yet.

I voted Love It, but I'm more in between Love and Good. Pacing wasn't great, and like some of the 'mystery' didn't exactly feel like a mystery.
