David Pakman breaks down how Newsom just utterly destroys every argument Hannity throws at him. This is a man who comes to an interview with ALL of the facts (just like Buttegieg).

Really hope he runs in 2028

My prediction is that DeSantis is going to get humiliated this election so bad he won't try again.

Had he waited and not crossed paths with trump he could have theoretically been the one to take the mantel in 28 but he's going to lose good will with the base and expose himself as the creep he is to the general public.

He did well spinning Hannity on his head, but leans way too much on his state's economy. Pretty sure you can put anyone of average intelligence in as governor of California and they'd still have a booming GDP with all the resources at hand, including Hollywood.

I like Newsom a lot personally. He is a technocrat, but one that does try often to do the right thing, so I think he tempers one of the worst impulses within the party with something a little more human and some moral clarity.

If I had to guess based on what we know now I'd say Gavin Newsome or Gretchen Whitmer would be the two big contenders in 2028 but we're so far from that now it's barely worth discussing. Who the hell knows who could rise up or fall by then?

My personal feeling is that he doesn't want to risk showing up Biden in the primary. Biden would still be likely to win said primary and the disappointment of not getting what Newsom promised could split and diminish the base's interest in voting, which in turn puts a win in the general at risk.

And anyone can run as a third party candidate, it doesn't mean it wouldn't be sabotaging Biden's chances and risking countless people if it meant a Republican was more likely to win.
