Selective breeding causing changes in the population is evolution. Be it thats who survived to adulthood, thats who had the most desirable traits in a breeding partner or thats who was around after natural disaster split the population or after humans caged you together thats evolution. Humans are influencing more control than what was typical but its not like the lion eating the slow gazelle or the owl eating the large mouse was no outside influence.
