Or any ground meat I guess? Way more space efficient and thaws substantially faster.

Only if I open the original package and don't cook it all, but I don't have to smash it down, I just use our vacuum sealer.

I guess i should have specified when buying in bulk... Which I assume(d) most folks do since it's so much more cost effective

I'd like to buy in bulk more often, but we need to get a freezer for the garage before we do. We have an older style French door fridge, and it makes it impossible to store a decent amount in the freezer because the shelves are so narrow.

I haven't had one of these fridges since I was a kid and forgot how awful they are. No idea why that design ever became popular.

Edit: I will say we do buy a cow every year with my parents that we get butchered by a local woman (she used to work at Praseks and learned from them if you're from south texas) and everyone she packages up is vacuum sealed tight. Honestly I'm surprised she doesn't just wrap everything in butcher paper, that seems a lot cheaper.

I've thought about this myself. Only thing I can come up with is that it looks/feels more fancy or something.

Edit: Worth mentioning when I say 'bulk' I'm just talking the 3-7ish packs or logs. Like this was a 3.5lb pack I broke up.

Protip: Put these in your chili (as a topping, don't put the Fritos in while cooking) SO good

No, but that's a good idea.

The food here is terrible. My steak was so tough it attacked my coffee and the coffee was too weak to defend itself.

I literally took back a post I started writing saying 'no, the kitty treaties aren't part of the recipe, and no you can't have any'
