If someone bites me, I'm probably going to hit them reflexively, and if that was it of course I'm not going to run over and stab them, but if they keep after me and are a threat, then whatever it takes. Knifing someone seems excessive, but I guess it depends. If someone bites me, I'm probably going to hit them reflexively, and if that was it of course I'm not going to run over and stab them, but if they keep after me and are a threat, then whatever it takes.
