It was indeed great in a variety of ways.

Miles is one of the best Spiderman, and as we see there's a lot of competition.

Yeah I put it as the best Spiderman movie by far. It's honestly insane this movie was somehow better than the first. I'm really looking forward to the third film. I really want to know where the story is going.

Spider man seems to be the only modern hero movie with any oomph behind it

It's similiar to Batman for DC, the only reason there are so many different unique takes on both of these IP's is that they're just really popular and well known. So they're more likely to get green lit. It's up to the exec heads to find not only people who really know and love the source material, but can also make a competent movie out of it as well. Spiderverse is just that.

was anybody else shocked as fuck that the movie ended with a to be continued like that or did you guys know that was coming? I havent seen a to be continued since the matrix reloaded

Yeah I went into this movie blind and when I was looking at the run time and how the story hasn't really "concluded" and the big cinematic music started playing at the reveal of Prowler Miles and I was like "Oh hell no, they're not ending this on a cliffhanger"... and it did just that lol.

Yeah, it was awesome. I'm glad I watched it anyway after my friend who watched the first movie with me couldn't make it due to work, another friend had to be with his newborn and my gf isn't interested in superhero movies. It's been years since I went to the cinema on my own.

My understanding is Earth 42's spider which was suppose to bite E42 Peter got sent to Miles' universe. E42 Peter was killed because he didn't become Spider-Man which resulted in the crime infested city we saw. But what about Miles' universe's Spider-Man? (I forgot what's his universe called)

Miles universes Peter dies in the first movie, and his universe has two spidermen because universe 42s spider gets sent to miles universe

A: who the spider that got sent to miles universe was supposed to bite
and B: where Peter Parker is, if hes alive, or if he matters

Yeah the movie was fantastic. If they need to delay Beyond because of the writer's strike then I'd rather them do that than face a lesser movie with crappy AI-generated writing.

One thing that was going through my mind while watching it was "...why can't the MCU Spidey movies have stunning shots like this movie?"

I'm aware with animation there's a lot more freedom with what you can do, but Marvel movies are almost like 80% CGI anyway. Would be cool to see upside down shots like with Miles and Gwen, or flashy swinging sequences, etc. If there's one thing I would criticize the MCU Spidey movies for is that it doesn't have enough inventive sequences to take advantage of his spider powers. The ASM movies and even the Sam Raimi trilogy did a lot in this department.

So Miguel o hara just a vampire cosplaying as spiderman? It didn't seem like he could actually wall crawl lol

Enjoyed the movie btw just felt that it was too long . also I had to pee throughout most of it cuz I finished drinking my soda too early and didn't want to miss out on important details

About 20 years late, but yeah it's a classic. The sequel is honestly better too.

If Beyond was scheduled to release next spring its probably finished.

The animation styles were all so fucking great.
I love that stylized animation is becoming more of a thing.

The movie was worked on simultaneously. There is no way it isn't at least 85% done. I'd be surprised if there is a delay. And IF there is one, I still highly doubt we're waiting more than a year.

This is kind of why I sometimes wish the MCU was animated instead of live action. I do think they could do alot more cool stuff if they stopped worrying aboit famous actor's faces and just embraced animation.

I noticed this with the first Spider-verse movie, there's just a lot more you can do with animation that makes Spiderman feel like an actual Spiderman. In the new movie, that scene where Gwen and Miles are sitting upside down just looking at the city was pure fucking art. And in the first movie they have this shot where he's like diving down and the colors of the city are changing (I believe) and it was just a really fantastic shot that wouldn't be properly represented with CGI or a real scenery.
